3hr beginner introduction to throwing on the wheel and hand building.
- 45 British pounds£45
- Garnham Street
This is a great introduction to pottery in a small class with lots of teacher support. The class comprises three hours of throwing on the wheel and hand building. You will have your own dedicated wheel. This is a fun class and you can expect to be taught how to prepare your clay for throwing on the wheel (known as wedging) followed by a hot wheel demo where you will be shown how to centre your clay on the wheel, open your pot and pull up the walls. You will also be shown how to make pots using hand building techniques involving the manipulation of clay using the hand only. These techniques are pinching, coiling and slab building. At the end of the class you can keep your best pot which will be fired twice and glazed for you in our lovely studio white glaze. Your pots will be ready for collection three weeks after the class and the collection dates will be listed on the Sak Beh Pottery website two weeks after the class. Happy Potting!
